Tasks & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Indian dishes in line with established recipes and quality standards
- Assist with menu preparation and support daily kitchen operations
- Prepare ingredients, including cutting, marinating, and seasoning meats, seafood, and vegetables
- Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation at all times
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness
- Conduct stock checks and assist with ordering kitchen supplies as required
- Minimise food wastage and support effective cost control measures
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations
- Manage food preparation, portion control, and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance, training, and ongoing support
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a minimum of 1–2 years relevant work experience
- Proven experience in preparing authentic Indian cuisine is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent time management and teamwork skills
- High standards of personal presentation and commitment to kitchen cleanliness
