Metal Fabricator

DIG TRADES GROUP PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and reliable Metal Fabricator to join its team in Lara, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and work orders. The role involves measuring, cutting, shaping, forming, welding, and fitting metal components, operating fabrication machinery, performing quality checks, maintaining workplace safety standards, and completing accurate job records.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine fabrication requirements.
• Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and form metal components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Set up and operate machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and cutting equipment.
• Weld, bolt, rivet, or otherwise join metal parts and assemblies to specification.
• Fit and assemble fabricated components, checking alignment and dimensional accuracy.
• Perform quality checks on finished work, identifying and rectifying defects.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in accordance with workplace safety standards.
• Liaise with supervisors and other trades to ensure fabrication work meets project timelines.
• Maintain accurate job records and report on work completed.
