The role involves staying updated with changes in tax legislation, liaising with regulatory authorities, and assisting clients or management in making informed financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and corporations.
- Advise clients on tax planning, deductions, exemptions, and credits.
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations.
- Research and interpret tax legislation to provide accurate guidance.
- Liaise with tax authorities and handle audits or inquiries.
- Identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Provide support in financial reporting and business structuring decisions.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and regulations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients/projects.
- Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Previous experience in tax advisory or accounting firms is advantageous.
