As a Cook, you’ll play a key role in preparing and presenting high-quality food that meets both customer expectations and the company’s standards. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring all meals are cooked safely, efficiently, and consistently according to recipes and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items to company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas.
- Follow proper food safety, storage, and temperature control practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (grill, fryer, oven, etc.).
- Check stock levels, assist with inventory management, and notify when supplies are low.
- Ensure portion control and minimize food waste.
- Work collaboratively with chefs, kitchen hands, and front-of-house teams.
- Comply with workplace health & safety and HACCP guidelines.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in basic cooking techniques — frying, grilling, baking, and food preparation.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Time management and ability to handle pressure during busy shifts.
- Knowledge of kitchen tools and commercial cooking equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in presentation.
Soft Skills:
- Teamwork and effective communication with kitchen & service staff.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive work attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not always required).
